Do you really work on old boilers?
Yes — cast-iron hot water and steam systems are a specialty. A lot of companies will not touch them; that is most of the boiler calls we get.
Should I convert to forced air instead?
Sometimes — but hydronic heat is comfortable and efficient when it works right. We will give you the honest comparison before you spend conversion money.
My steam boiler bangs — is that dangerous?
Usually not dangerous, but not normal either. Water hammer means condensate is sitting where it should not — fixable, and cheaper than ignoring it.
How often should a boiler be serviced?
Once a year before heating season — combustion, controls, pressure, and a check for leaks and corrosion.
